Students coming from EU countries and staying in Poland longer than 3 months are obliged to apply for a temporary residence permit.

To meet this obligation, please first collect the following to register your stay:

1. Application for registering the residence – 3 copies;
2. 4 copies of passport or identity card (page with a photograph);
3. confirmation of Erasmus student status (issued by the IO);
4. health insurance document – for example, European Health Insurance Card – 1 copy + sworn Polish translation;
5. statement that you have money to provide for yourself during your stay (it is to be signed at place) + sworn Polish translation.

NOTE: You don’t need any photographs.

Having collected the above mentioned documents, visit Urząd Wojewódzki, ul. Wały Chrobrego 4, department: Wydział Spraw Obywatelskich (preferably with your tutor as you will have to cope with some forms in Polish).

After max. 30 days you will get the response and you can pick up the confirmation of a temporary residence.

Then, you have to apply for a temporary residence permit. You have max. 30 days from your arrival date to do that. To meet this obligation, please collect the following:

1. Temporary residence registration form;
2. confirmation of a temporary residence;
3. confirmation of temporary residence address (for students lodging in student halls – to be issued by the student hall after arrival and registration, for students lodging in private houses – to be issued by municipality upon owner’s notion submitted);
4. identity card or passport.

Having collected the above mentioned documents, visit City Hall, pl. Armii Krajowej 1 (preferably with your tutor as you will have to cope with some forms in Polish).

You have to show the officer original documents of each copy.

All documents should have been signed in the officer’s presence.

A citizen of a non-EU/EEA country can enter the territory of Poland on the basis of a valid travel document (passport) and a visa (if required). A citizen of a non-EU country has to obtain the visa from the Polish embassy in his/her country of residence.

Students should apply for a visa in a consulate for the whole planned period of studying in Poland. A visa is issued on the basis of the acceptance letter from the hostig university in Poland confirming the student’s enrollment for a certain period of studies.

Students coming from non-EU countries with a visa covering their entire period of stay should register at the City Hall only. Please, see details below. When you complete your registration at the City Hall, you don’t need to follow the procedure at Urząd Wojewódzki.

Students coming from non-EU countries and staying in Poland longer than 3 months are obliged to apply for a temporary residence permit, if they don’t have a visa covering their entire period of stay (eg. Schengen visa).

Please go to the City Hall first to register your stay. You have 4 days from your arrival to that!
You have to have the following documents to do that:

1. Temporary residence registration form;
2. confirmation of temporary residence address (for students lodging in student halls – to be issued by the student hall after arrival and registration, for students lodging in private houses – to be issued by municipality upon owner’s notion submitted);
3. passport;
4. visa.

If you have all the required documents, you will be registered immediately.
If you need a registration confirmation you have to pay 17 PLN.

If you don’t have a visa covering your entire period of stay, eg. Schengen visa, visit Urząd Wojewódzki (ul. Wały Chrobrego 4) no later than 90 days after your arrival (preferably with your tutor as you will have to cope with some forms in Polish in order to register your stay.
Foreign students from Non-EU/EEA-countries should submit the following documents:

1. Application for the temporary residence permit;
2. a copy of your passport (3 copies of the page with your photograph and 1 copy of all the pages of the passport);
3. a health insurance document + sworn Polish translation;
4. confirmation of Erasmus student status (issued by the IO);
5. documents confirming the availability of funds for staying in Poland – living costs: no less than 635 PLN/month + travel costs: 200 PLN/neighbouring countries, 500 PLN/EU countries, apart from neighbouring countries, 2500 PLN/outside the EU (for example, confirmation from the home university that a student receives Erasmus grant, travel cheque, confirmation of credit card limit issued by the bank which issued the card, confirmation of money in a bank account (in a Polish bank) or job and salary confirmation); the amounts in PLN can be in equivalent amount in different currencies; + sworn Polish translation;
6. 4 photographs – in colour, 4,5 cm x 3,5 cm;
7. payment receipt for 340 PLN – either in the payment desk it the City Hall, or via bank transfer to: Urząd Miasta Szczecin, Wydział Podatków i Opłat Lokalnych, Pl. Armii Krajowej 1, 70 – 456 Szczecin, bank account number: 20 1020 4795 0000 9302 0277 9429, transfer title: za wydanie zezwolenia na zamieszkanie na pobyt czasowy na terytorium RP);
8. confirmation of temporary residence (issued by the City Hall).

If you have all the required documents, you will receive an answer to your request within 2 months.
